From May 2023 the practice has introduced a triage system which operates throughout the day.
A GP completes triage continuously each day and based on clinical need, patients are then given an on the day appointment or an appointment within 14 days.
This is to try to move away from the "8.00am rush" on the telephones and for us to provide a better access model for our patients.
Pre bookable appointments are available up to 14 days in advance for your convenience if your medical need is not deemed urgent.
Our appointments are face to face as default however patients can request a telephone call if more convenient, however if a clinical assessment is required will ask you to attend the surgery where possible.
The doctors will see you in surgery by appointment through the receptionist following triage.
Friends or relatives staying with you can be seen by the doctor as temporary residents.

Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know.
If you can not make your appointment let us know as soon as you can so another patient can book the appointment time. You can cancel or change your appointment:
Telephone Advice
If you require advice from the doctor or nurse over the telephone you will need to provide us with your telephone number and you will be called back in due course, usually after morning surgery.
If you need advice urgently, telephone anytime.
NHS App
You can now use the NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services and your GP account on your smartphone or tablet.
You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record, access your Covid vaccination status and more.

Urgent Cases
We will strive to offer an appointment on the day.
Ill Children and Frail Elderly
Children and frail elderly patients who are ill can be seen on the day by appointment.
Extended Access Hubs
North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent CCGs together with the GP Federation have formed a group of ‘Hubs’ across the region for patients to access appointments outside of surgery times.
Appointment times will be Monday to Friday between 4.00pm and 8.00pm and also during the day on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. Please go to the following link for further information and how to book your appointment, or telephone the surgery.

Home Visits
If a home visit is required, please telephone between 8.00am and 10.30am if possible. This will help the doctor to plan rounds and avoid unnecessary delay.
Visits are for those who are housebound or those who are too ill to come to the surgery. Please try to attend surgery if you do not fall into these categories.
