Antenatal Clinic
The clinic is run by the doctor and community midwife on Wednesdays from midday
by appointment.
Asthma Clinic
The clinic is run by the doctor and the practice nurse on a regular basis.
Please ask for an appointment.
Baby Clinic And Child Development Checks
Child health surveillance.
Newborn babies and children from the age of 6 weeks, 8 months, 18 months,
3 and 5 years are examined to check their health and development. In addition,
parents will be able to ask questions and discuss any worries they may have concerning
their children.
Cardiac Clinic
The purpose of this clinic is to prevent heart attacks. All the risk factors
(smoking, obesity, blood pressure etc) are dealt with and appropriate advice
is given.
Cervical Cytology
For women aged 25-64. Smears are done daily by the practice nurse.
Diabetic Clinic
The clinic is run by the doctor and the practice nurse.
Dietary Advice
The clinic is run by the doctor and the practice nurse.
Family Planning
Advice is given in normal surgery by the doctor/nurse. A special appointment
is needed for some aspects of family planning. For emergency contraception an
appointment is not needed. Preconception counselling is available.
Immunisation For Children
Immunisation clinics are on Thursday. These can also be done in normal surgery.
Flu Injections
Usually start mid October. Please ask reception for further details.
Immunisation For Foreign Travel
Advice and injections are given by the practice nurse by appointment.
Tetanus Vaccination
Please make an appointment with the practice nurse.
Hypertension Clinic
The clinic is run by the practice nurse and the doctors. Please make an appointment.
Minor Operations
Removal of cysts, abcesses, infected toenails, moles, joint injections and
warts are dealt with by the doctor and assisted by the practice nurse.
Postnatal Examination
Examination is six weeks after delivery. This is carried out by the doctor
by appointment only.
Health Promotion Clinic
This is probably the most important clinic. Any patient of any age can discuss
any health problems. We give a general check-up and anyone can make an appointment
to see the nurse. Details are available at reception.
Non-NHS Examinations
Heavy goods vehicle, PSV and insurance medicals etc are carried out; details
at reception.
Bereavement Counselling
Please ask if you need to use this service. This is done by a professional
service.
Health Checks
Where a registered patient between the age of 16 and 75 years has not attended
surgery within the preceding three years and asks for a consultation, this will
be provided and, in the course of the consultation, appropriate enquiries and
examinations take place.
For a patient aged 75 or over who has not participated in a consultation within
the previous 12 months and requests a consultation, enquiries and examinations
will take place as appropriate in the course of the consultation. This consultation
may take place in the home of the patient where in the opinion of the practice,
because of the patient's medical condition, it is not possible for the patient
to attend the surgery.
